If you want REALLY be productive, get an HTC built pda phone.

Let me ask you. Are you using that computer you bought exactly as you bought it? Of course not. You bought software, installed games, all kinds of good stuff. Well, why would you settle for a cellphone that can't do the same thing?

I've had my Verizon xv6800 for about two months now and love it. I simply can't think of what it must have been like before this. Of course, I'm not running the same piece that big red gave me.

OH NO! and this is the point of this post. The xv6800, also known to Sprint customers as the mogul, is made by the biggest pda phone manufacturer in the world, HTC. Their name for it is the Titan. Now, HTC phone have, for years, been hacked and cracked into all sorts of wonderfullness.

Think of taking your Honda Accord and putting some computer stuff in it and turning it into a Porche. This is what the hackers can do to an HTC phone. The Titan has seen some serious hack-tion since it's inception. In the last two weeks, they figured out how to enable the GPS chip, yes, its in there. Not only that, they also put the NEXT version of windows mobile operating system on the phone.

Of course, like with your Accord, the warrantee is void when you hack these phones. But, the increased functionality and useability is welll worth the risk. There are so many things you can do with these phones.

If you work, then you can use the pda phone. checking email, getting news on the go, communicating in variuos ways (sms, mms, email,IM,blog) all are possible.

"but I can do that with this phone or that phone". Yes, I hear you iPhone users. You can do those things. But only in the way Steve Jobs wants you to. I have options for how I view webpages, get email, IM, even sms with my wife! I can take a picture, and in 5 seconds, you can see the picture on map where it was taken.

Options....Flexibilty.....Choice......FREEEEEDOMMMMMMMM!

If you like old style Russian command economy, then buy an iPhone or other non-Windows Mobile phone.

If you prefer the American values of freedom of choice, then buy a Windows Mobile Pocket PC. If you like the old west, make sure its an HTC built one.
